BEFORE THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF NEVADA NOTICE OF JOINT APPLICATION On July 20, 2020, Nevada Power Company d/b/a NV Energy ("NPC") and Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy ("SPPC") (collectively, "NV Energy") filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada ("Commission") a joint application, designated as Docket No. 20-07023 ("Joint Application"), for approval of the fourth amendment to its 2018 Joint Integrated Resource Plan to update and modify the renewable portion of the Supply-Side Action Plan and the Transmission Action Plan. This Notice serves only to notify the public that the Commission has received the above-referenced filing. It is the responsibility of interested persons to review the filing and monitor the proceedings to determine their desired levels of involvement based on how this matter may affect their unique situations. The details provided within this Notice are for informational purposes only and are not meant to be an all-inclusive overview of the filing. The Commission may consider and adopt alternative proposals not contained within the filing but which are related to the subject matter of the filing and supported by substantial evidence. The Commission will accept or modify the Joint Application or specify any portions of the Joint Application it deems inadequate. NV Energy filed the Joint Application pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statutes ("NRS") and the Nevada Administrative Code ("NAC") Chapters 703 and 704, including, but not limited to, NRS 704.741 through 704.751 and NAC 704.9005 through 704.9525. Pursuant to NAC 703.5273, NV Energy requests confidential treatment of information submitted under seal with the Joint Application. In its Joint Application, NV Energy includes requests to approve a new load forecast and to amend the following: (1) the Transmission Action Plan to include two, large statewide transmission projects as well as other, local transmission projects; and (2) the renewable section of the Supply-Side Action Plan to add two new long-term power purchase agreements between NPC and developers of solar photovoltaic ("PV") generating facilities (each with integrated battery storage systems), one NPC-owned solar PV generating facility, and one community solar project in Las Vegas at Mojave High School. Interested and affected persons may file petitions for leave to intervene pursuant to NAC 703.578 through 703.600 or comments at either of the Commission's offices on or before WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2020. A person who wishes to participate as a commenter may file written comments pursuant to NAC 703.491. A commenter is not a party of record and shall not take any action that only a party of record may take. Pursuant to NAC 703.500, only parties of record are entitled to enter an appearance, introduce relevant evidence, examine and cross-examine witnesses, make arguments, make and argue motions and generally participate in the proceeding.
